Art’n’Stay Residency Funding Program (Cycle I) – Egypt

Deadline: 17 April 2024

Are you an art space in Egypt seeking opportunities for growth and collaboration? Introducing the Art’n’Stay Residency Program, backed by Culture Funding Watch (CFW). If you are an art space with an upcoming residency project and a vision for fostering creativity and contributing to the dynamic cultural landscape of Egypt, this program is designed for you.

They encourage diversity, innovation, and a commitment to community engagement. By joining Art’n’Stay, you become part of a community dedicated to nurturing creativity and fostering meaningful connections.

Objectives

  • This call will support the implementation of clear art residencies in Egypt through the Art’n’Stay Residency Program. The program aims to provide comprehensive support for upcoming residency projects initiated by these art spaces. The support encompasses financial assistance, including artist stipends, travel allowances, accommodation, and additional services crucial for the successful implementation of the residency projects. Furthermore, the call extends support by integrating art spaces into the Art’n’Stay online platform, fostering visibility and connections within the broader artistic community.
  • The objectives of the Art’n’Stay Residency Program are twofold:
    • Cultivating a Dynamic Artistic Ecosystem
      • Fostering a dynamic artistic ecosystem within the partner art spaces is a primary goal. This is achieved by hosting diverse and engaging residencies that not only support the creative process but also contribute significantly to the vibrancy of the Egyptian arts community. Through carefully curated residencies, they aim to provide a platform for artistic exploration, innovation, and collaboration, creating a thriving environment for both resident artists and the local artistic community.
    • Promoting Cultural Exchange and Cross-Cultural Dialogue
      • Another key objective is to promote cultural exchange by hosting artists from various cultural backgrounds. Art’n’Stay is dedicated to fostering a cross-cultural dialogue within the Egyptian partner art spaces. By bringing together artists with diverse perspectives, practices, and experiences, they aim to facilitate meaningful interactions, encourage the exchange of ideas, and contribute to a richer, more interconnected global artistic landscape. This objective emphasizes the importance of cultural diversity and inclusivity within the residency program, fostering a holistic understanding of artistic expression.

Funding Information

  • Sub-grants will be disbursed in two transfers, with an initial prefinancing payment and a final payment upon the successful implementation of the residency.
  • Grant Amount per Art Space: EUR 1,000
