The Arts Department of Wexford County Council are delighted to announce that the Artist in the Community Programme is now open to all community groups that are members of Wexford Public Participation Network (WPPN) and/ or as well as community groups of place and interest, that are interested in working on an arts project with an artist from their Artist in the Community Artists Panel.
This artist’s panel comprises of 32 professional artists based in county Wexford who work in a wide variety of art forms from visual arts, music, dance, street arts, literature, circus and drama and have experience of engaging with communities.
Aims
- Each project should aim to achieve the following:
- Participants will develop their creativity and learn new skills.
- The group itself will develop, collaborate, interact, and exchange ideas with others.
Funding Information
- Wexford County Council may provide 50% funding, up to a maximum of €3,000 per project with a single artist and a maximum of €5,000 per project with 2 or more artists form the artists’ panel.
Assessment Criteria
- Extent of Collaboration – Artists and participants should have a direct influence on the process and product, from start to finish; Strong collaborative projects will be prioritised over traditional teaching models (e.g., art classes).
- Artistic Outcomes – the process should result in an artistic project or event.
- Artistic Merit – the depth and quality of the artistic interaction.
- Value for Money – clear, realistic budget breakdown.
- If required Proof of Child Protection Policy and Vulnerable Adult Protection Policy a copy of the policy must be supplied with the application.
Application Requirements
- Please submit your application:
- Via email to arts and have ‘Artist in the Community Scheme Community Name’.
- Digital submission on PDF or Word accepted only. Applications must not exceed 10 MB in size including support material.
- NB If you do not receive an email receipt that the arts office has received your application within 24 hours (during working week) of sending the application, you must contact the arts office.
- They advise that all applicants send their application before the deadline date.
- If you have any access issues around applying for this scheme, please contact the Arts Office and leave a number and they will be very happy to assist you with your application. Hard copies may be accepted following communication with the Arts Office.
