Are you a girl aged 13–18 from South Asia with a bold idea to tackle climate change? Got a vision powered by STEAM ? This is your moment to shine! The Girl Up India is excited to invite applications for its Girl Tank – Pitch, Power, Planet Initiative.
Girl Up India invites you to Girl Tank — a two-day virtual pitch competition where shortlisted participants will present their ideas for climate action to a panel of expert “Sharks.”
Open only to girls from the aforementioned countries, WiSci South Asia Alumni and young changemakers aged 13-18, the event bridges the gender gap in STEAM by fostering entrepreneurial thinking, public speaking, and bold, market-ready ideas.
Girl Tank celebrates creativity, confidence, and community, offering mentorship and project awards to 4 top ideas that demonstrate real-world impact.
Focus Area
- Must propose to work on STEAM-driven solutions to address climate change.
Prize Information
- The top 4 winners get up to $1000 in project grants, and the chance to lead real-world change.
Program Specifications
- Day 1 (June 28): features a panel with inspiring leaders in STEAM and announcement of winners of Round 1.
- Day 2 (June 29): hosts a Shark Tank-style pitch competition where 10 finalists present live to expert judges.
Eligibility Criteria
- Age: 13–18 years
- Location: Open to participants from India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Maldives, and Nepal
- Gender Identity: Self-identified girls
- Applications are open for individuals or teams (maximum 4 members)
Evaluation Criteria
- All entries will be evaluated solely on the basis of merit, creativity, and adherence to the competition guidelines.
