Are you a graphic designer, visual artist. or musician looking for break? Fak’ugesi is calling out all vibrant creatives to bring this years theme #UntilUnlocked to life in a poster concept and theme song.
About the theme: 2024 Fak’ugesi is leveling up #untilunlocked and the game is on! AI representation, quantum computing, skills levelled-up, heritage digitised, queer catalyst and their flagship VR, Gaming and Animation exhibits. Come engage with digital creative innovation with #unliunlocked.
Theme Song
- This year they are looking for a theme song that will carry their #UntilUnlocked concept into the air-waves. Imagine your song as part of their 2024 animated trailer, and as the backing sound for their festival activities. You may even be further invited to perform your song live during the festival.
- Remember, your song could be the sound of the festival, heard and admired by many. So let your creativity flow.
- Theme Song Specifications
- Your theme song will need to be shared with them in a final mp3 format for final judging.
- They also require your submission to have individual tracks for vocals, instrumental at a minimum, you may include up to 5 tracks.
- You must be the sole creator of your theme song.
Poster Concept
- This year tey are looking for conceptual ideas/drawings/graphics that they will then develop into the detailed posters that Fak’ugesi is known for. This year for the first time ever they will allow concepts in any visual format meaning that even if your not a vector design guru, you still have a chance at winning!
- Remember, your design could be the face of their festival, seen and admired by many. So let your creativity flow.
- Poster Concept Specifications
- Your poster concept must be in a Portrait A3 format 297 mm wide x 420 mm high.
- This year they are allowing applications in any visual format. They are looking for exciting raw concepts that will be developed with their internal designers. Please keep in mind that this does mean your concept will be transformed into a scaleable vector format by their festival design team.
- You must be the sole creator of your concept.
Prize Information
- Poster Concept: 2500ZAR
- Theme Song: 5000ZAR
Eligibility Criteria
- Only African resident may apply.
- Be 18-35yrs old.
- Specific formats apply to each category.
