The Fondation l’Oreal is thrilled to announce its L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Program to provide financial support and promote talented women scientists conducting research in the fields of: medical and health sciences, exact and natural sciences, and agricultural sciences (hereinafter collectively referred to as “Life Sciences”).
Funding Information
- Amount of scholarships in the Competition for the Winners:
- Conducting research aimed at obtaining a Master’s degree – scholarship in the total amount of PLN 25,000.00;
- Conducting research aimed at obtaining a doctoral degree – scholarship in the total amount of PLN 35,000.00;
- Conducting research aimed at obtaining a post-doctoral degree – scholarship in the total amount of PLN 40,000.00.
Eligibility Criteria
- The competition is addressed to women scientists:
- Conducting research in the field of Life Sciences with the aim of obtaining a Master’s degree,
- Conducting research in the field of Life Sciences aimed at obtaining a doctoral degree,
- Conducting scientific research in the fields of Life Sciences aimed at achieving a scientific achievement that is the basis for obtaining a post-doctoral degree.
- The Competition is open to candidates who:
- Are resident in the territory of the Republic of Poland,
- Have full legal capacity,
- In the year of payment of the scholarship (2026: the calendar year immediately following the year in which the Competition Winners are selected) do not reach the age of 26 in the case of Master’s students, 32 in the case of PhD students and 40 in the case of postdoctoral students. Candidates who were on maternity leave during their scientific work are entitled to extend the age limit by an additional two years for each child. Such candidates are required to attach a certificate of the birth of a child to the competition application.
- Submit a complete application for participation in the Competition containing the documentation,
- Will obtain the degree of doctor or postdoctoral degree, respectively, no earlier than after the announcement of the competition results.
Application Requirements
- The candidate applying for the master’s scholarship must attach the following to the application form:
- Curriculum vitae,
- A copy of a bachelor’s diploma or participation in a uniform master’s degree programme confirmed by the dean’s office,
- A short description of scientific plans for the coming year (maximum 1 page),
- Opinion of the supervisor or academic tutor,
- List of scientific publications,
- Copies of most important publications.
- The candidate applying for a doctoral or postdoctoral scholarship must attach the following to the application form:
- CV including places of employment and international and domestic research internships,
- Copies of diplomas documenting higher education (notary confirmation is not required),
- A short description of the scientific work to date with information on the scope of the research conducted and the research methods used (maximum 1 page),
- A short description of the scientific plans for the coming year with information on the possibilities of practical use of the implemented project (maximum 1 page),
- The opinion of the supervisor or academic tutor or the head of the administrative unit (Faculty, Institute, Department or Department) in which the doctoral student or postdoctoral candidate conducts research,
- List of scientific publications with Impact The journal factor and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education score for journals in which the work was published, the Hirsch Index,
- Copies of the most important publications (maximum 5)

- Application documents should be prepared in English (except copies of diplomas).
- The application for participation should be accepted and signed by the dean of the faculty or the director of the unit educating or employing the Candidate.
- Incomplete applications, those not meeting formal requirements or submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
