Deadline: 31 May 2024
In order to encourage the mobility of French artists, the ADAGP and the Cité internationale des arts continue to join forces for the third edition of a support programme allowing an artist based outside of the Paris region to benefit from a three-month research residency and professional support from the Cité internationale des arts.
While public, associative and private initiatives have tended to rebalance the cultural disparities created by a geography that stayed centralized for too long, Paris remains a privileged place for encounters and opportunities.
In order to respond to the specific needs of artists wishing to nourish their artistic projects and their professional career with the Parisian context and network, this residency will be supported by the Cité internationale des arts team.
The Residency
This program includes:
- A three-month residency at the Cité internationale des arts (site du Marais) from January 03 to March 28, 2024.
- A living allowance of 2 000 euros /month, that is 6 000 for the whole residency.
- An artistic and professional accompaniment.
- Networking opportunities with all artists of all nationalities, disciplines, and generations in residence, as well as with external professionals according to the projects of the laureate.
Eligibility Criteria
- This program is open to artists in the field of visual arts (painting, sculpture, photography, video, performance), residing in France but outside the Ile-de-France region and who are not represented by a gallery in the Ile-de-France region.
- There is no age limit.
- In addition to the evaluation of the candidate’s professional career, the members of the jury, composed of qualified personalities, will pay particular attention to the artistic quality of the project, to the arguments presented on the added value of this perspective of residency in Paris, to the envisaged work protocol and to the contacts or partnerships already established.
- Applications from artists who have already benefited from a residency at the Cité internationale des arts will not be given priority.
