Applications are now open for the Young Talents Italia: L’Oréal UNESCO for Women in Science Programme to promote and support the involvement of young women in scientific research.
The Awards are aimed at valorizing the work of deserving researchers who propose a valid research project lasting 12 months at Italian research institutions that have expressed their interest in the development of the project itself.
The Awards of the Young Talents Italia L’Oréal – UNESCO “For Women in Science” program will be presented by L’Oréal Italia during an awards ceremony to be held on June 16 in Milan.

- The program identifies and rewards talented young researchers in the following scientific-disciplinary areas:
- Sciences of Life;
- Environmental Sciences;
- Mathematics;
- Computer Science;
- Physics;
- Chemistry;
- Engineering and Technology
Prize Information
- On the occasion of this twenty-third Italian edition, 6 Prizes will be awarded, with a gross value of Euro 20,000.00 each, to female researchers aged less than or equal to 35 (thirty-five) years on the date of expiration.
Eligibility Criteria
- The Award reserved for female researchers aims to reward candidates:
- who have already completed a doctorate or obtained an equivalent qualification or who are enrolled in the final year of a doctoral school or equivalent school abroad;
- that they are carrying out research activities in one of the following scientific fields: Life Sciences; Environmental Sciences; Mathematics; Computer Science; Physics; Chemistry; Engineering and Technologies. And that during the 12 months of enjoyment of the Prize they undertake to carry out scientific research activity at Italian research institutions that have expressed their interest in carrying out the aforementioned activity;
- who are less than or equal to 35 years of age on the deadline. If the candidate is the mother of one or more children, this deadline is postponed by 1 year for each child;
- who do not have a permanent job at the time of notification of the win premium. This condition must be explicitly expressed through self-certification;
- who can certify the absence of criminal convictions or pending criminal proceedings;
- who are Italian citizens or who have EU citizenship or a residence or study permit in Italy.
Selection Criteria
- The jury will select the candidate based on:
- the candidate’s curriculum vitae and research;
- peer reviewed scientific publications;
- the candidate’s ability to promote and communicate science among young people.
