Nominations are now open for the UNESCO Biosphere Isle of Man Awards 2024.
The UNESCO Biosphere Isle of Man Awards recognise organisations and individuals working for a more sustainable Isle of Man.
Categories
- Economy
- Enter projects and initiatives that have contributed to the UNESCO Biosphere’s economy in a sustainable way.
- Education
- Please enter projects and initiatives that educate and inform people about sustainable living in the UNESCO Biosphere.
- Energy
- Enter projects that promote greener energy usage and energy saving, in line with the UNESCO Biosphere’s climate change commitments.
- Engagement
- Enter projects and initiatives that contribute to getting involved with the UNESCO Biosphere.
- Enjoyment
- Enter projects and initiatives that contribute to enjoying living and working in the UNESCO Biosphere.
- Environment
- Please enter projects and initiatives that conserve and enhance the natural and built environment of the UNESCO Biosphere.
Funding Information
- The project has a budget of £50,000 a year and two officers, a project officer and a project assistant. However, the cross-community, collaborative, nature of the project means much valuable work is achieved at no cost.
Criteria
- Individuals and organisations are invited to enter the 2024 UNESCO Biosphere Isle of Man Awards.
- In line with UNESCO Biosphere Isle of Man’s strategy, the awards celebrate those working together for a sustainable future.
- Entrants should share the details of a project or initiative they are delivering in one of six categories
- Entering is free and easy. Entries can be made via the UNESCO Biosphere Isle of Man website.
- Individuals and organisations cannot submit the same entry in more than one category. However, they can submit more than one entry per category and submit different entries in different categories.
