Applications are now open for the Vanuatu Australia Awards to help promote prosperity, reduce poverty, and enhance political stability.
Priority Areas
- The priority areas of study eligible for Vanuatu are:
- Health
- Climate change and renewable energy
- Inclusive education and in the teaching of STEM – science, technology, engineering, and mathematics
- Animal science
- Finance/commerce, public policy, and public administration
- Information technology and media communications
- Aviation management and aircraft engineering
- Management (including of VET) and trade skills
- Civil and architectural engineering
- Agriculture
Benefits
- Scholarship recipients will receive the following:
- Return air travel
- A one-off establishment allowance on arrival
- Full tuition fees
- Contribution to living expenses
- Introductory academic program
- Overseas student health cover for the duration of the scholarship
- Supplementary academic support
- Fieldwork allowance for research students and masters by coursework which has a compulsory fieldwork component
Eligibility Criteria
- In addition to the eligibility requirements, candidates from Vanuatu must also meet the following conditions:
- Certificate IV, Diploma and Advanced Diploma (TVET)
- All institution course pre-requisites including strong English language skills.
- Bachelor level
- Government Secondary students (Anglophone and Francophone): Year 13 grades of A+, A or B for the top four subjects, including English, or (if still to complete Form 7) Year 12 grades of 1 or 2 for the top four subjects, including English.
- Non-Government Year 12 Secondary students (Francophone): Grades of 12+ (out of 20) for all subjects, including English in most recent year of study.
- Master’s level
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 across university transcript or equivalent (e.g.12 out of 20, Francophone). A lower GPA may be considered in exceptional circumstances.

- Proof of citizenship
- Academic transcripts
- Curriculum Vitae
- Referee reports
- All documents must be translated to English. Failure to do so could render your application ineligible.
- Note: Only shortlisted applicants must have their documents certified.
