Entries are now open for the DFAT Australia Awards Scholarships to help promote prosperity, reduce poverty, and enhance political stability.
Priority Areas
- The priority areas of study for Wallis and Futuna are:
- Business and leadership studies, particularly small-and-medium enterprise management (e.g. tourism, artisanal and primary agricultural sectors)
- Sustainable development
- Marine studies and resource management
- Climate change management and biodiversity preservation
Benefits
- Scholarship recipients will receive the following:
- Return air travel
- A one-off establishment allowance on arrival
- Full tuition fees
- Contribution to living expenses
- Introductory academic program
- Overseas student health cover for the duration of the scholarship supplementary academic support
- Fieldwork allowance for research students and masters by coursework which has a compulsory fieldwork component
Level of Study
- Awards will be offered for commencement in 2026 within the following allocations:
- Undergraduate
- Postgraduate
- Master’s by coursework or research
Eligibility Criteria
- In addition to the eligibility requirements, candidates from Wallis and Futuna must also meet the following conditions:
- Applicants must have achieved an IELTS (academic) score of 6.5 or higher (with no individual band score less than 6.0) or an equivalent TOEFL or PTE score
- Scores must be valid as at 1 January 2026

- Undergraduate and/or postgraduate level qualifications
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Minimum two referee reports including from current employer (required) plus one other (previous employer, mentor, academic supervisor)
- Proof of English language proficiency
