Deadline: 30 June 2024
The Paul Smith’s Foundation and Winsor & Newton are partnering to launch a new art prize in painting and drawing.
Six winning artists will be selected from a free-to-enter Open Call, chosen by a notable, local industry representative who has the networks and experience to develop an artist’s professional practice.
In year one, the prize will take place in London, Paris, New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo and Hong Kong. A winning artist will be selected for each city.
Funding Information
- The winning participants will receive up to £1,000 of materials from Winsor & Newton and a £1,000 stipend from Paul Smith’s Foundation to make a new piece of work that responds to the theme of “Finding Inspiration Everywhere”. Completed works will be exhibited in a Paul Smith store in one of the following cities: London; Los Angeles; Paris; New York; Tokyo; or Hong Kong. The winning participants must organise travel at their own expense to and from any exhibiting Paul Smith store.
- Winners will be invited to attend a dinner in London on 23 October 2024 hosted by Paul Smith. Attendance at the dinner is not mandatory as part of the prize but for those wishing to attend, Winsor & Newton will provide an amount to cover economy air, train or car travel and one night’s hotel accommodation in London.
