Applications are now open for the OMT’s Sabbatical Study award intended specifically for full-time academics undertaking sabbatical study either locally or internationally to further their current research, pursue new ideas or enhance teaching.
They award a limited number of grants annually to support sabbatical studies at public higher education institutions.
Who can apply?
- Candidates must demonstrate a proven record of teaching and research excellence and be based at a South African higher education institution.
- Preference will be given to academics demonstrating innovative research with relevance to South Africa and the potential to be recognised globally. They encourage applications from all disciplines. Awards are made bi-annually.
