Entries are now open for the OurEcho Challenge, a STEM contest that empowers young changemakers to take a closer look at biodiversity in their communities.
Young leaders will first identify threats to local ecosystems and then propose solutions to help preserve, protect, or restore those natural resources.
Prizes
- Prizes: 1 x £5,000.00 cash grant, 1 x £2,500.00 cash grant, £1,000.00 cash grant. Prize to support the biodiversity initiative described in the winning entry.
Eligibility Criteria
- 2023-24 OurEcho Challenge submission entries are open to young changemakers in the US and the UK, ages 13-16. Youth can enter individually or in teams of up to three (3) peers.
- They also encourage teams to work with an adult mentor to help support their project. Mentors can be traditional teachers, parents, homeschool instructors, and/or adult facilitators of more informal learning environments. The OurEcho Challenge is offered only within the United Kingdom.
- A participating student may be involved with up to three unique entries. Max 1 Prize per entry.
- Youth entering the OurEcho Challenge can submit an entry as an individual or as part of a team of up to three (3) peers. All team members must provide their email addresses, a parent’s email address and are encouraged to provide the contact information of a potential adult mentor at their school or orgarnization. Mentors can be traditional educators, parents, homeschool instructors, and/or adult facilitators of more informal learning environments. The US OurEcho Challenge is offered only within the 50 United States and the District of Columbia.
