The Hong Kong Open Printshop has launched an open call for HKOP Award that aims to discover emerging local printmakers and provide residency, funding and support for creating their exhibitions.
Founded in 2000, Hong Kong Open Printshop is the first non-profit open printshop run by artists in Hong Kong. In 2012, Hong Kong Open Printshop was registered as a charitable organisation governed by the Board of Directors and Executive Committee, and operated by a professional team.
HKOP is dedicated to promoting graphic art, encouraging international cultural exchange, enhancing the quality and professional standard in artistic expression, and giving back to the community by preserving local print art culture.
Award Information
- HKOP Award in Printmaking is expected to support no more than two recipients and reserves the right not to provide any awards.
- Recipient(s) will be granted the following:
- A free six-month residency at The Print Lab, Hong Kong Open Printshop, between September 2024 to April 2025.
- Venue and technical support, with material subsidy.
- Pairing with a mentor who will provide advice and support.
- A venue for exhibition, between May and June 2025.
Eligibility Criteria
- You are eligible to apply for the award if you are:
- Hong Kong permanent resident.
- Graduate of local or overseas higher education institutions in recent five years with a degree related to art.
- Pursuing a career in printmaking in Hong Kong.
