The Lundbeck Foundation is delighted to invite nominations for the Brain Prize that recognises and celebrates highly original and groundbreaking advances in any area of brain research, from basic neuroscience to applied clinical research.
It serves to raise awareness of the winners, their science, and their field of research, to inspire future generations of scientists and to promote a greater appreciation of the importance of brain research, its challenges, and breakthroughs.
Prize Information
- Recipients of the Brain Prize receive a gold medal and share the prize of DKK 10m (EUR 1.3m in total).
Role and Responsibilities
- To raise awareness of the prize-winning research, Brain Prize recipients participate in a series of educational events; seminars, lectures, and conferences that highlight their achievements and promote their work amongst the global neuroscience community. The Brain Prize also creates a series of films to highlight the winners, their scientific journeys and achievements.
Nomination Criteria
- Anyone can nominate a candidate for The Brain Prize. If several researchers have contributed significantly to the achievement, more than one individual may be nominated. The selection committee will evaluate all candidates adhering to the nomination criteria listed below:
- Self-nomination is not accepted.
- Nominees can be of any nationality and work in any part of the world.
- Nominees can work in any field of neuroscience, from basic to clinical.
- Nominees must still be actively engaged in research.
Application Requirements
- All nominations must be submitted electronically and in English.
- The name, title, degree, affiliation, e-mail address, and gender of the nominee must be provided.
- The nomination requires a statement about the achievement for which the nomination is made (max 1,500 characters).
- The nomination also requires a separate statement about the specific contribution of each nominee to the achievement (max 5,000 characters per nominee).
- Up to 10 key publications for each nominee can be provided.
- The number of citations and h-index for each nominee is optional.
