Nominations are now open for the Pembrokeshire Spotlight Awards, an annual award event to recognise and celebrate children and young people who achieve exceptional things and make a real difference.
The Awards are your chance to nominate someone you feel deserves recognition for their outstanding achievements.
Categories
- Most Inspiring Story: The story should be about a young person who has perhaps overcome adversity, risen to a challenge or achieved something amazing, however big or small.
- Making a Difference in the Community: Has the young person given something back to the place where they live or go to school? Have they done something that will benefit others? Have they been part of a group or helped someone else to achieve something for the people of Pembrokeshire?
- Achieving Positive Change: Has the young person brought about positive change? This can be about anything – in the home, at school, with friends or with themselves. No matter how big or small, if its positive change they can be nominated!
- Young Leader / Peer Mentoring Award: An award for young people who have taken a lead with other young people, guided their peers or supported, or inspired other young people to achieve or succeed.
- Arts Award: For achievement in artistic activity, on whatever scale – drawing, painting, sculpture or knitting. Big or small, public or private.
- Music Award: For achievement in music. Whether learning, performing or entertaining, if a young person has a musical talent or achievement, then nominate them!
- Sports Award: Team or individual, any sport and any achievement, whether winning, progressing or improving)
- Educational Award: An award for achievement in education, in any subject and in any school.
- Eco Champion Award: Has the young person reduced waste, recycled, upcycled or been involved in a project, campaign or activity with an environmental issue? Then nominate them!
- Voice Award: This award is for a young person who has demonstrated a wish to be heard, a willingness to speak out about something important or to speak out on behalf of someone else whether individual or group
- Fundraising Award: This award is given to a young person who as demonstrated commitment and gone the extra mile to raise money for a great cause.
