The Good Relations Awards 2025 are now open for nominations to spotlight the essential role that members of the local community play in delivering peace and building united communities.
The Awards recognize the exceptional commitment to Good Relations work undertaken by people and groups who go above and beyond, every single day, to make a better, more united community for everyone. The Awards celebrate those who unite and champion their local communities, while also showcasing the diverse range of projects that connect communities in peace, understanding and cultural respect.

Categories
- The Community Relations Council Exceptional Achievement Award: This Award recognizes those individuals who are instrumental in developing new pathways to peace and reconciliation, demonstrating sustained and long-term commitment to community relations work across Northern Ireland.
- Good Relations Volunteer of the Year Award: This Award aims to recognize the outstanding commitment of a volunteer who is focused and dedicated to peacebuilding, and who supports Good Relations programmes and initiatives in their local community.
- Good Relations Community Champion Award: This Award aims to recognize the long-standing, positive difference an individual has made to supporting Good Relations in their local area.
- Good Relations Youth Award (Under 25): This Award aims to recognize and celebrate young people under the age of 25 who are delivering positive Good Relations work in their community.
- Good Relations Connecting Communities Project of the Year Award: This Award recognizes a group of local people who have formed a project or delivered an activity that brings together a community to promote mutual respect and understanding, is strengthened by its diversity, and where cultural expression is celebrated and embraced, thus benefiting others in their community.
- Good Relations ‘Housing for All’ Award: The Good Relations ‘Housing for All’ Award is a new category this year which is dedicated to recognizing those involved in the Shared Housing Programme.
Eligibility Criteria
- The Community Relations Council Exceptional Achievement Award: The Award is open to an individual but there may be a case for a joint nomination for two people who have worked very closely in achieving their goals.
- Good Relations Volunteer of the Year Award: The Award is open to an individual but there may be a case for a joint nomination for two people who have worked very closely in achieving their goals.
- Good Relations Community Champion Award: The Award is open to an individual but there may be a case for a joint nomination for two people who have worked very closely in achieving their goals.
- Good Relations Youth Award (Under 25): Organizations or an individual can be nominated for the Youth Award.
- Good Relations Connecting Communities Project of the Year Award: The Connected Community Award focuses on a group or organization.
- Good Relations ‘Housing for All’ Award: The Good Relations ‘Housing for All’ Award is open to individuals or groups working in a voluntary capacity in their community as part of the “Housing for All” Shared Housing Programme.
