The Italian-Latin American International Organization with the support of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (DGCS/MAECI) are launching the sixteenth edition of PHOTO IILA, an award for emerging Latin American photographers up to the age of 40.
Theme
- The theme on which artists are invited to participate is “Migrations.”
Prize Information
- A winner will be selected from among the submitted works , whose project will be exhibited at the Museo di Roma in Trastevere in October 2025.
- The winner will be offered:
- round-trip economy class airfare to Rome;
- a contribution of €3,000 for their stay (meals, accommodation, transportation) and a one-month residency in Rome, in parallel with the exhibition.
- During this stay, the winner will develop a photography project focused on the city of Rome. The project will be presented at the next edition of the Prize.
Judging Criteria
- The entries will be evaluated by a competent jury composed of three representatives from the international photography world. The selection will be based on the criteria of relevance to the proposed theme, quality, and organizational nature of the project.
Application Requirements
- Photographic works that represent the proposed theme from an artistic perspective and with solid aesthetic quality are accepted. Proposals commissioned for public or private advertising campaigns are not accepted.
- To participate it is necessary:
- Complete the technical sheet attached to this call and return it in PDF format.
- Send a minimum of 5 photographs and a maximum of 10 (minimum dimensions 110mm x 160mm, 300 dpi resolution, TIFF or JPG format).
- Submit a portfolio of previous projects (a single PDF file, A4 format, maximum 20 pages and 5 MB, including the photographer’s name, contact information, and index).
