The Donegal County Council’s Culture and Creativity Team are pleased to announce an open call for Donegal-based community groups, organisations, and individuals to submit applications for the Donegal Culture & Creativity Project Awards Scheme 2025.
The Projects Awards Scheme addresses the Culture & Creativity Strategy for County Donegal to “create new funding opportunities/programmes aimed at discovering and supporting existing and emerging voices in culture and creativity” (Strategic Priority 3, Culture & Creativity Strategy, 2023 – 2027 for County Donegal).
The projects can focus on engaging, exploring, sharing, preserving, or promoting culture, heritage, creativity, arts or technology in creative and imaginative ways, such as through performances, workshops, exhibitions, training, conservation actions or research.
Funding Information
- 25 project awards of €2,000 each are available, and this funding is provided through the Creative Ireland programme which is supported by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, and Donegal County Council.
- Projects whose budget is less than €2,000 will not be considered. Projects whose budgets exceed €2,000 should indicate where the additional funding will come from.
Eligibility Criteria
- Community groups, organisations, musicians, artists, heritage professionals and creative practitioners, either based in County Donegal, or with the proposed activity taking place in County Donegal.
- All partners, or prospective partners, named in the application must be consulted, and have agreed to be part of the project before you submit your application.
- Donegal County Council welcomes submissions to the Donegal Culture & Creativity Project Awards Scheme from all applicants regardless of their gender, sexual orientation, age, ethnicity, membership of the Traveller community, disability, religion, family status or socio-economic background and is committed to equal opportunity for all applicants.
- The Council is keen that submissions to the Donegal Culture & Creativity Project Awards Scheme reflect the diversity of communities in Donegal.
Assessment Criteria
- Proposed projects will be assessed against the following criteria:
- Project Description: including aims and objectives, expected project outputs and how your project addresses an aspect of arts, creativity, culture, heritage, or technology in an imaginative, innovative, or creative way
- Engagement & Community: including how your project encourages engagement and works with culture professionals, heritage specialists, creatives and/or local communities
- Project Management & Delivery: including demonstration of management capacity, an outline of how the project will be delivered and a practical timeframe
- Value for Money: including outlining of project budget, investment of other funding secured (if relevant), your own resources and/or in-kind contributions
- New Applicant: There will be an extra 2% marks awarded to a new applicant or an applicant who has not previously been part of a successful application for Creative Ireland funding through this award scheme in the past 3 years.
