The Monsignor Sante Montanaro Foundation is pleased to announce the third edition of its Don Sante Montanaro Award for Contemporary Art aimed at promoting and enhancing art in the local area.
Theme
- The central theme of the new edition of the Award aims to stimulate creative dynamics that will define an updated vision of contemporary reality, closely relating it to the aesthetic attitudes and inclinations of one’s own subjectivity.
Categories
- Painting: Works created in complete stylistic and technical freedom (oil, tempera, acrylic, ink, vinyl, watercolor, graphite, pencil, collage, engraving, etc.)
- Sculpture and Installation: Works created in any organic or inorganic material. It is possible to present works in the form of a photographic digital project
- Photography: Photographs on analog support in black and white and color, digital photographs in black and white and color, and digital elaborations in black and white and color.
- Art Video: Works created using all animation techniques on any digital and analog support, as well as experimental films.
- Performance: Any artist or group of artists may participate with a performance that can be executed using any technique and form of expression, utilizing any supporting materials provided by the artist.
- Virtual and Multimedia Art: Multimedia installations, works entirely created by computer, 3D graphics, virtual installations, net art.
Prize Information
- The sole winning artist will be awarded the Don Sante Prize for Contemporary Art, which consists of a purchase prize of €2,000. The artwork will become part of the Monsignor Sante Montanaro Foundation’s collection.
- During the closing event, the winner of the Popular Choice Award will also be announced and will receive a recognition prize.
Eligibility Criteria
- The Award is open to all artists, regardless of their age, gender, nationality or any other qualification. Every artist may participate with a single work, whether published or unpublished. The artwork must not display the artist’s name visibly, to allow for an unbiased evaluation by the Scientific Committee.
