The Kids in Museums is delighted to announce its Family Friendly Museum Award which celebrates museums, galleries and heritage attractions that go the extra mile to provide an excellent family friendly experience.
Award Categories
- The Family Friendly Museum Award categories are as follows:
- Best Accessible Museum
- Best Small Museum
- Best Medium Museum
- Best Large Museum
- Special category – Best Museum Youth Project: Social Justice
Benefits
- The winner will receive the Family Friendly Museum Award, as well as a winner logo to use on their website and communications. They will showcase the museum on their website and socialvmedia throughout the year and promote it as an example of best practice through their work and training events.
- They give all shortlisted museums a certificate to display at their museum.
Nomination Criteria
- They welcome applications from UK museums, galleries and heritage attractions of all sizes, from national museums with teams of curators, to tiny local galleries run by volunteers.
- Nominations for the Family Friendly Museum Award can be made by anyone – children, parents, carers, grandparents, aunties, uncles, cousins – or museums can apply themselves.
