Deadline: 8 May 2025
Applications are now open for the ALA Art Prize to support, enhance and promote contemporary artists.
Artists are invited to create an original site-specific project for ALA’s premises, a not-white cube which will get them to interact with the work environment and its community, thus establishing a space for discussion between art, business and contemporary creativity.
The awarded artwork will become part of the permanent art collection housed in the headquarters of the Company, within the Teatro Mediterraneo of Mostra d’Oltremare in Naples.
Purpose
- The aim of the Call is to choose an original artistic project with no technical constraints but compatible with ALA Headquarter premises, and in line with the Company’s values and mission.
Theme
- The 2025 edition of ALA Art Prize has a free theme.
Prize Information
- The winning project will be awarded a prize of €10.000,00 including applicable legal charges and net of VAT as required by law, inclusive of the all costs, such as production and insured transport, related to the artwork, whose property will be transferred without reserve to ALA SpA by virtue of the acceptance of this regulation.
- The winning artist will also receive a fee of €2.000,00, including applicable legal charges and net of VAT in the legal measures.
- Acquisition Prize: The acquisition prize is intended to promote and enhance the work of artists and collectives under 35 through the purchase of a completed artwork.
Eligibility Criteria
- The call is open to all artists or collectives of artists of Italian nationality and to foreign artists, or collectives of artists, active in Italy, who accept this regulation unconditionally.
- The call is open to all artists over 18 years of age. In the case of collectives the requirement applies to all group members. There is no maximum age limit.
- Participants must have at least 3 solo or group exhibitions held in the last 5 years in a public or private museum, gallery, cultural center, or verified and recognized foundation. In the case of collectives of artists, the requirement applies to the group and not to the individual member.
Evaluation Criteria
- The projects will be evaluated considering the quality and originality criteria of the proposals, the degree of site-specificity and the degree of commonality with ALA’s values.
Application Requirements
- Under penalty of exclusion, participants can only submit one project/artwork.
- The CV’s and identity documents of each individual member must be sent bearing hand-written signature.
- Under penalty of exclusion, the artwork or project presented must be original.
- Any form of the visual arts is allowed, with no technical constraints. Materials and techniques may be chosen freely by the artist, as long as they prove to be suitable for the reference context. The work or project must therefore be carried out considering the specific nature and designated purpose of the sites.
