Applications are now open for the iDEX Open Challenge, an initiative of iDEX – DIO aimed at promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in the defence sector.
Innovators, Startups and MSMEs can now engage directly with the military through the iDEX Open Challenge to showcase their technologies, facilitated by DIO and Partner Incubators.
Themes
- The Open Challenge invites proposals under various leading technology domains, including aerospace, autonomous systems, artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, etc. Participants can submit proposals under one or more themes.
Problem Statements
- iDEX Open Challenge aims to create opportunities for innovators to propose ways for harnessing their technology capabilities to strengthen their nation’s military superiority. If you think you have an idea, technology or a product that has use in defence and aerospace, then iDEX Open Challenge is the right opportunity for you. Funding Information
- The selected applications will be funded up to ₹1.5 crores in the form of equity/other relevant structures. The funds will be disbursed in tranches based on the milestones decided by a high-powered selection committee.
- Apart from the fund, selected applicants may also be given entry to accelerator programs run by iDEX partners, where they will be supported in technology and business development through mentorship under the innovation and entrepreneurship experts. The selected applicants may also be supported in terms of access to defence testing facilities and experts for their product/technology development.
Eligibility Criteria
- The challenge is open to Indian startups, individual innovators, and MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) who have innovative solutions that can be used in the defence and aerospace sectors.
- Proposal submission: Participants must submit their proposals through the iDEX portal only. The proposals must include a description of the technology or solution, its potential applications, and preferably, a demonstration of its feasibility.
