AKADEMIYA2063, through the Regional Strategic Analysis Knowledge Support System (ReSAKSS), is launching the fourth edition of the ReSAKSS Data Challenge to drive data innovation in the international development sector.
The ReSAKSS Data Challenge is a competition for enthusiastic data users to showcase their creativity and analytical skills by using data and other resources on the ReSAKSS website to develop an innovative knowledge product that addresses a development challenge faced by Africa. Contestants will explore a wide range of resources: data, reports, reviews, publications, and much more on the ReSAKSS website and related digital platforms, using the knowledge to hack solutions relevant to any given sector.
Categories
- The Annual ReSAKSS challenge is an Africa-wide – diaspora included – four (4)-category challenge encouraging participants to use their imagination to generate innovative knowledge, tools, and content. Prizes will be awarded to the best entries in the following categories:
- Category 1 – Essays and Reports: The most innovative research paper, article, essay, or journal article bringing solutions to African issues
- Category 2 – Visual Arts: The most innovative infographic, illustration, video
- Category 3 – IT products and services: The most innovative applications and tools
- Category 4 – High School Projects: The most innovative high school project.

Eligibility Criteria
- The challenge is open to researchers, high school and university students, graphic designers, IT specialists, analysts, and anyone else in Africa, passionate about creatively using data available on platforms to communicate and address development challenges faced by Africa.
- The challenge is open to all Africans within the continent and in the diaspora. All individuals under the age of 13 must have a parent or legal guardian submit the application on their behalf. All participants under the age of 18 must have permission from a parent or legal guardian to enter this challenge. The challenge organizers reserve the rights to verify an individual’s eligibility to participate in the challenge.
