Toto Funds the Arts is inviting entries for the 2024 Toto Prize for creative young writers in Kannada.
The Toto Puraskar has been given for the past twelve years with a view to encourage creative young writers writing in Kannada and has recognized many talented people so far. Supported by the Bhumija Trust, this award is for writers under the age of 29 years. Creative writing in any genre, including story, poetry and drama, is eligible for a prize. Every year this selection is done by a committee of senior Kannada writers. The Toto Award has been honored by the remarkable achievements of the prize-winning writers in their early years of writing and the recognition they have received at the state and national levels.
Prize Information
- The Toto Puraskar, which is entering its twentieth year, has increased the cash prize of the award to Rs 60,000 on this occasion.
Eligibility Criteria
- Entrants must be Indian Citizens (Overseas Citizen of India – OCI – Card holders are not eligible) and must be between 18 and 29 years of age. That is, you are only eligible to submit entries for this giveaway if you were born between January 1, 1994 and January 1, 2006.
- Entries can be submitted in any of the three genres: Story, Poetry and Drama. One person will be selected for the award from these three categories. This selection will be done by a committee of senior Kannada writers like every year.
Rules
- You are only eligible to submit entries for this prize if you were born after 1st January 1994 and between 1st January 2006.
- Entries must be submitted in MS WORD, spoken, written or Unicode only. Prints or manuscripts will not be accepted. Entries in MS WORD and any other software will not be accepted.
- Please also write your name date of birth and address in English.
