Deadline: 15 May 2024
The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation is seeking applications to contribute to deepening Armenian Studies globally, supporting students and researchers admitted to a master’s or doctorate, or post-doctorate, at internationally recognized universities.
The Armenian Communities Department of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation is committed to the enhancement of Armenian Studies globally. It awards scholarships to research students admitted to or already pursuing a Master or PhD degree or a Post Doc in internationally recognized universities.
For a better understanding and deeper knowledge of recent developments in Armenia, the region and the diaspora, and in order to strengthen applied, theoretical and practical research, in 2024 the Foundation will prioritize, with this application, in the first instance, proposals of research related to these themes, in line with its position of prioritizing research on current topics (ie post-Soviet).
Research projects of political relevance and practical utility will be valued, especially the following disciplines: political science/international relations, sociology, anthropology, current history, social psychology, international law, human rights, peace and conflict studies, international development and humanitarian studies, diaspora, migration and refugee studies, cultural studies and other related disciplines.
Seven to ten scholarships for Armenian Studies will be awarded in 2024, with the annual amounts set out in the respective regulations.
