Deadline: 31 January 2024
The British Embassy in Pristina invites Kosovan girls aged 14 to 18 to enter its Be an Ambassador for a Day competition.
About the Competition
- Women and girls represent half of the world’s population and half of its potential. Today there are too few women in international diplomacy. This is particularly true of women from under-represented backgrounds, including ethnic, religious, economic, cultural, or personal identity groups. Neither are women equally represented in politics and business. To end this under representation, they must ensure equality of opportunity and equitable outcomes for everyone.
- This is why they are encouraging young girls to make their voices heard on topics that affect them all and why they are running the Be an Ambassador for a Day competition.
- They are encouraging young girls to become leaders and advocates for change by offering them the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes of the British Embassy in Pristina. The winner will also have a one-to-one discussion with a Head of Mission from one of the other participating Missions in Kosovo.
What happens if you Win?
- The winners must be available to be in Pristina on the week commencing 12th February for an afternoon of activities with the British Ambassador to Kosovo and British Embassy Pristina team. The winners will be invited to the British Embassy for an afternoon with the British Ambassador and staff of the British Embassy. They will also be invited to a ceremony with leading women in Kosovan institutions, have a one-to-one discussion with one of the participating heads of mission, and receive an invitation to the King’s Birthday Party 2024.
- If the winners need to travel from outside Pristina, the Embassy will cover reasonable travel expenses for the winner(s) and one parent or legal guardian.

- You can enter this competition if, at the time of applying, you:
- identify as female
