The U.S. Embassy Dhaka is pleased to announce a call for applications for the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program.
This unique, ten-month professional development program is open to candidates working across the public and private sectors including the research organizations, think tanks, and NGOs in Bangladesh.
The HHH program brings accomplished mid-career professionals to the United States for a year of non-degree graduate-level study, leadership development, and substantive collaboration with American counterparts. By providing future leaders and policy makers with exposure to U.S. society, culture, and professional fields, the program provides a basis for lasting, productive partnerships between Americans and their foreign counterparts.

Eligibility Criteria
- Be a mid-career professional in leadership position who has demonstrated a commitment to public service and the potential for professional advancement.
- Have at least a four-year bachelor’s degree from an accredited public or private university in Bangladesh.
- Have a minimum of five years full-time professional experience (prior to August 2025) in the relevant field.
- Have management or policy responsibilities, including university teachers and/or teachers of English as a foreign language.
- Have not participated in U.S. government-sponsored exchange programs within the last three years prior to August 2026.
- Be proficient in both written and spoken English. Candidates will be required to take Internet-based Test (iBT) of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
- Be a Bangladeshi citizen and residing in Bangladesh at the time of the application and selection process.
- Not be a dual (Bangladesh and United States) citizen or U.S. permanent resident.
Application Requirements
- A completed online application. Complete answers to all questions; essay responses must be in English and thoroughly address the prompts.
- Two letters of reference in English; one must be from the applicant’s current employer.
- Official transcripts in English; Ensure all transcripts uploaded by the applicant are official, valid documents.
- Transcripts must list courses taken and grades received for undergraduate (first university or Bachelor’s) degree.
- Valid TOEFL score (if available).
