Nominations are now open for the Australian Mental Health Prize to recognize outstanding contributions to mental health in Australia by an individual.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the highly regarded Australian Mental Health Prize. As nominations open for the 2025 prize, leading mental health advocates reflect on a decade of transformation, and the urgent challenges that remain.

Eligibility Criteria
- Entry is by nomination only.
- Any member of the public or a third party organisation (public, non-government or private) may nominate an entry for the Prize.
- Self-nominations will not be accepted.
- Employees of UNSW Sydney may nominate a person for entry.
- Current UNSW employees are ineligible for nomination.
- If a nominee is not over the age of eighteen (18), a parent/guardian must accept the nominee’s entry on the nominee’s behalf.
- A nominee must be an Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident.
Application Requirements
- Please describe the nominee’s contribution to mental health awareness and/or prevention and/or treatment of mental illness:
- Summarise in a few sentences the main reasons why you believe your nominee would be a worthy recipient of the Australian Mental Health Prize
- Describe in some detail how your nominee has made contributions to the awareness, prevention and/or treatment of mental health in Australia (and, if relevant, internationally). You can address each of these aspects separately. Please give some verifiable examples of their contributions.
- Additional information on the impact of their efforts.
- If possible, please provide evidence of the impact of this contribution on the mental health of the community.
