The Malaysia Teacher Prize is organised to appreciate, celebrate and highlight outstanding teachers in Malaysia.
This Prize is the first of its kind in Malaysia to recognise Malaysian teachers on a national scale and provide a platform to scale their best practices.
Aims
- Highlight outstanding teachers in Malaysia, by acknowledging the impact of their practices on their students and the community;
- Scale sustainable practices by empowering these teachers, for the purpose of promoting a more equitable education space.
Theme
- “The power of a Teacher, The potential of a Nation”
- Their theme, “The power of a Teacher, the potential of a Nation”, further encapsulates the importance of acknowledging teachers as their power to shape the future of our country extends beyond what they do in the classroom.
Prize Information
- The Malaysia Teacher Prize Winner will receive a cash prize of RM50,000.
- The Top 5 Finalists, except the Winner, will receive a cash prize of RM 5,000.
- The Top 10 Finalists will receive a cash prize of RM 1,000. The Winner and the Finalists will receive a
- Professional Development Workshop Series from PEMIMPIN.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applications are open to all Malaysian teachers who:
- Teach students between the age of 5 to 18 using the Malaysian national syllabus
- Teach at least 10 hours a week
- Have at least 3 years of teaching experience
- Plan to stay in the teaching profession for the next 5 years
