Open Call: Dún Laoghaire Rathdown – Cruinniú na nÓg (Ireland)

Cruinniú na nÓg is the national day of free creativity for children and young people. It aims to celebrate and encourage children and young people’s (aged 0 – 18) participation in culture and creativity by providing free, accessible, activity-based creative action in their own locality.

For this proposal they are seeking projects that connect creatively with children and young people across dlr to celebrate their ideas and identities. Priority will be given to projects that occur in the run up to the 7 June, with a presentation or celebration taking place on that date. Proposals that are suitable for outdoor performance and could take place as part of dlr’s wider Cruinniú programme are welcomed.

Priorities

• Applications can include any medium or a mix of creative activities and art forms (examples include but are not limited to performance, street art, fashion, photography, digital arts, literature, architecture, coding, biodiversity, folk life, heritage, archaeology, landscape).

Funding Information

• Proposals should be between €1,000 – €3,000 (inclusive of VAT).

Eligibility Criteria

• You are eligible for this award if you live or work in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County.
• Who Can Apply:
  • Individual Artists and Creatives
  • Creative Enterprises or organisations/groups
  • Organisations who engage with children and young people (Community Youth Groups, Youth Work Groups, Sports Groups, Neighbourhood Groups, Creative, Cultural, etc.)
  • Youth Collectives

Assessment Criteria

• Proposals should demonstrate a high-quality creative process that is ambitious and original, provides a challenging, fun, and rewarding experience for the participants, and enables them to develop their skills.
• They welcome applications that give access to groups of children and young people who have limited access to creative activities.
• They warmly welcome applications for activities that are delivered through the Irish language.
• Priority will be given to proposals that demonstrate how children will have ownership of the work they undertake and play an active role in decision making.
• All proposals must be within the Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Administrative Area. In making their decisions, they will seek to ensure a geographic spread of activities across the region.
• All proposals must show feasibility of completion and presentation on 7 June 2025.
• All proposals must have a clear and feasible budget (which is VAT inclusive).
• Fair pay for artists/creative professionals engaged in projects must be demonstrated in the budget in your application form.

• Letter(s) of support/collaboration/partnership/agreements
• One example of previous work that will best support your proposal (if you are a non creative organisation you can include a sample of work from the facilitator/arts organisation that you propose to work with).
