The Sports for Transformation (SfT) Fellowship, presented by the Dani Foundation, is a pioneering initiative in India. It’s designed to unite passionate young individuals and equip them with the tools to harness the transformative power of sports for societal betterment. This two-year residential program offers an interdisciplinary approach, blending hands-on experience with theoretical knowledge.
As a fellow, you’ll play a pivotal role in enriching the lives of children by introducing them to the joys and lessons of sports. Your journey begins in the vibrant settings of Kapadwanj, Gujarat, immersing you in the heart of grassroots sports initiatives. In your second year, you’ll have the freedom to choose your location from the various operational sites, tailoring your experience to your passions and career aspirations.

Funding Information
- Fellows receive a stipend of 18000 INR, plus accommodation and travel reimbursements.
- In the first year, fellows will be in Kapadvanj, Gujarat. In the second year, they can choose their location from where the program operates, based on their specialization.
Who is an ideal Sports for Transformation Fellow?
- They are looking for youth between the ages of 20-26, who have passion and commitment towards the movement that places every child’s right to play and learn at the heart of what we do.
- In order to be eligible for the fellowship, you must be an Indian citizen, and must have graduated with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree by June/July 2023.
- The cohort will be diverse. Youth from varied social and academic backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Applicants with demonstrated experience in leadership roles in sports development, coaching and/or have participated in district or state level sports will be preferred but it is not mandatory.
