The Stephen J. Brady Stop Hunger Scholarships are designed to recognize and reward the great steps students are taking to fight hunger in the communities across the United States.
The Foundation is looking for students who are using their creativity, academic studies (like STEM), and organizational skills to help fight hunger in their communities. The Foundation would like to learn about the communities scholars serve and how they engage others in these efforts.
Funding Information
- National Scholarship winners receive a $10,000 scholarship and a $5,000 grant for their hunger-related charity.
- In addition, National winners will attend an all-expenses-paid trip to the Foundation’s annual fundraising event, the Sodexo Charity Classic Presented by PepsiCo, which will take place on June 10-12, 2024, in Marco Island, FL. They will meet top global and national food, beverage, supplies, equipment and facilities management companies who support the Stop Hunger mission.
Eligibility Criteria
- All applicants must be enrolled in an accredited educational institution (kindergarten through graduate school) in the United States. All applicants must be ages 5-25 and meet the age requirement by October 5, 2023.
- All applicants must have demonstrated on-going commitment to their community by performing unpaid volunteer services impacting hunger in the United States within the last 12 months.
- All applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of the United States who reside in the contiguous United States, Alaska, and Hawaii only.
- Volunteer services performed by applicant must help non-family members.
- If an applicant is selected as a potential national Stephen J. Brady Stop Hunger Scholarship recipient and is under the age of 18 at the time of selection in order to be confirmed as a winner, the applicant’s parent or legal guardian must sign an Affidavit of Eligibility and Assignment of Rights.
- Scholarship funds awarded to winners must be used for tuition and related fees, books, supplies, and equipment required for courses at an accredited post-secondary education institution.
