Applications are now open for the Bangkok Art Biennale, a biennial art festival set in the capital of Thailand.
Visitors are able to immerse themselves in an array of artworks from a diverse range of artists, both local and international throughout the city, in arts and cultural spaces, iconic landmarks, temples and public spaces.
In 2020 the biennale expanded to virtual platform allowing people from all over the world to see the exhibition online.
In addition, BAB is accompanied by a variety of events ranging from educational conferences, talks, hands-on workshops, guided visits, publications, and online programs to ensure a memorable, educational, and fun experience.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants should be an artist or a collective and there is no restriction on age, race, ethnic background, or nationality. The application must be submitted exclusively by the artist or the collective. Galleries or other agents cannot apply on behalf of artists.
- If you apply as a collective, please provide evidence of previous works or collaborations as a collective that were completed prior to the application.
- Applications will be chosen by the curatorial team based on:
- Relevance to the BAB 2024 theme Nurture Gaia.
- Relation to contemporaneity and/or important issues of the now.
- Merit and quality.
- Feasibility in regard to general management.
- Applicants are expected to provide evidence of a commitment to establishing an artistic career.
- The work and/or project cannot risk violating any rights, including intellectual property rights, of a third party.
