Do you want to become a business mentor? The Takween Accelerator is looking for individuals interested in becoming mentors and entrepreneurial coaches.
This program is designed to provide training on the best practices of being a startup mentor to support them in developing their businesses, increasing revenue, attracting investors, and obtaining funding.
Aims
- This program aims to increase the number of qualified startup mentors in KRI and Iraq, improve the quality of mentorship in the region and expand the funding opportunities for MSMEs.
- In this program, individuals will learn communication strategies, effective mentoring relationships, and what’s expected from mentors, understand the entrepreneurial mindset to help startups identify their goals, strengths, and challenges, and then provide guidance on how to approach each. At the same time learn about startup ecosystem, and what’s required for startups to present when approaching investors.
Program Details
- This is a four weeks program that includes training, assignment, certification, and then several hours of paid practical startup mentorship.
- Individuals who want to learn more about the startup ecosystem and become professional business mentors can apply.
- Successful applicants will be invited for interviews. Selected applicants will go through four weeks of training (3 times a week) following up with practical paid experience.
- The training will be done online; therefore, individuals do not need to travel across the country, and the training times can be flexible depending on the request of trainees.
Selection Criteria
- Applicant must be an Iraqi citizen.
- Applicant must have a strong business background.
- Applicant must be able to justify their need for such training.
- Applicant must be able to attend four weeks of training (1.5 hours per day and 3 session per week).
- Applicant must show interest in the startup ecosystem as well as supporting businesses.
- Applicant must be able to communicate in English at a professional level.
- Applicant must be interviewed and receive positive votes from the committee.
- Note: Selection will be on a rolling basis, and only 15 high-potential coaches will be selected to participate in this round of the coaching program. Therefore, although you may seem to meet the written requirements, it does not guarantee placement in the program.
