The Women’s Forum of New York is seeking applications for its Women’s Forum Education Award to recognizes extraordinary women and often heroic effort in overcoming adversity as they restructure their lives for success.
Topics
- The topics of those essays are as follows:
- Career Goals and Motivation o Please describe your career goals and motivation for seeking this Award. If relevant, please include any meaningful leadership experience or involvement in community service, art, athletics, business, science, or other extracurricular activities.
- Personal History o Please describe your personal history including challenges or obstacles overcome in pursuing an education. Please also discuss your academic record as an indication of noteworthy leadership promise
Award Information
- Awards are given in two instalments: $5,000 upon notification of Award by June 30, 2025 and $5,000 in January 2026 or upon successful completion of an additional semester of 6 or more credits before June 2027.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant must:
- be at least 25 years old by December 31, 2024
- attend college at a two- or four-year institution within New York City
- reside in New York City
- be pursuing her FIRST associate or bachelor’s degree and have earned at least 12 credits in good standing
- have attended a college in New York City during the 2024 academic year and be enrolled for at least 6 credits in the 2025-2026 academic year
- have at least 9 credits to complete graduation requirements AFTER June 2025
- If completing an associate degree in June 2025, must then provide evidence of admission to a bachelor’s degree program
- complete an additional semester of 6 or more credits within twelve months of receiving the first installment of the Award.
