Submissions are now open for the Lived and Living Experience Grants to support mental health Lived and Living Experience workers employed at approved Victorian Government funded community-managed and clinical mental health services, as well as AOD and Harm Reduction services.
The Lived and Living Experience Workforce Development Grants Program builds upon the Royal Commission’s recommended reforms of the Lived and Living Experience workforce.
They are seeking applications that outline qualifications, trainings or projects that can build the leadership and education and training capabilities of Lived and Living Experience Workers (LLLEW) in community-managed mental health, AOD and Harm Reduction services.
Categories
- There are two categories of grants, expanded on below:
- Lived and Living Experience Educator Grants:
- For those working in LLE Educator positions.
- Please note there are a range of positions which may be considered LLE Educator positions, including those with responsibilities to train LLE workforces, those with responsibilities to train staff on the role of LLEW in the mental health sector, and more.
- The purpose of these grants is to support Lived and Living Experience workers that have education and/or training responsibilities to grow their education and training skills and capabilities.
- Lived and Living Experience Workforce Development Grants:
- For those working in designated Lived and Living Experience roles. This includes those working in leadership roles, peer worker roles and many more (noting this excludes LLE Educator roles).
- The purpose of these grants is to provide support for the Lived and Living Experience Workforce to develop skills and capabilities in areas of need including leadership development.
- Lived and Living Experience Educator Grants:
Funding Information
- Each grant is valued up to $5,000, depending on the course or development opportunity being applied for. You are encouraged to apply for training and development that suits your current capabilities, career goals and interests.
Ineligible Expenses
- The grants cannot be used to support FTE, salaries, travel, accommodation or external materials. The grants will only cover the qualification, training or project cost. In-house training provided internally by your organisation or employer will not be approved.
Eligibility Criteria
- People employed in designated lived and living experience roles in Victorian Government funded mental health and alcohol and other drug (AOD) services are eligible to apply. This includes all lived and living experience workforce disciplines including consumer mental health, family carer mental health, AOD and harm reduction peer workforces.
- Only LLEWs that have responsibility for providing education or training as part of their role can apply for the Educator grants.
