The Emergency Medicine Foundation in partnership with Society for Academic Emergency Medicine Foundation are seeking applications to award stipends for the purpose of encouraging medical students to engage in and be exposed to emergency medicine research.
Funding Information
- Funding amount per award: $5,000
- Number of awards: up to four
- Duration: July 2025 – June 2026
Eligibility Criteria
- An application for an EMF/SAEMF Medical Student Research Grant may be made by either a specific medical student or by an Emergency Medicine residency program wishing to sponsor a medical student research project. The maximum number of awards funded will be determined annually by the EMF Board of Trustees.
Evaluation Criteria
- Each proposal will be evaluated by a committee composed of individuals from EMF and SAEMF according to the following criteria:
- Relevance to the goals of the Medical Student Research Grant program.
- Educational experience for the applicant.
- The quality and scientific value of the project.
- The research background and experience of the preceptor.
- The preceptor’s ability to mentor.
- Institutional support personnel, facilities, and commitment to research.
- The final funding decision will be made by the Emergency Medicine Foundation Board of Trustees and all decisions are final.

- Do not submit an incomplete application. An application will be considered incomplete if it is illegible, if it fails to follow instructions, or if the material presented is insufficient to permit an adequate review. The application consists of the following sections:
