The Standard Issue’s Call for Scores is an opportunity specifically aimed at early-career composers.
Their focus this year is on DUOS – exploring the unique possibilities between two instruments coming together. They’ll be commissioning 3 composers to write duos for members of Standard Issue to be performed throughout our 2025 season.
Funding Information
- Composers will receive a commission fee of £750 and will spend the year workshopping + recording their new work with us ahead of its 2025 premiere.
Eligibility Criteria
- They welcome applications from composers with a wide range of approaches to composition and music making, and are keen to hear from composers from historically under-represented groups such as black, Asian or minority ethnic composers, women composers and disabled composers.
Application Requirements
- Please submit the following materials below as part of the application to work with Standard Issue:
- At least 2 works that highlight you as a composer, for any instrumentation (pdf score, audio/video sample + optional programme notes)
- A brief bio + description of why you want to work with Standard Issue and any ideas you have
- Any other information that is helpful for us to know.
