The Australia Day in South Australia is felicitating Inspiring South Australian Women by honoring them with an award to recognize the outstanding contributions by them to the community during the current year or over several years.
Award Categories
- Inspiring South Australian Women’s Award:
- Recognises exceptional and inspiring women who have made outstanding contributions to the community that have had a positive impact through their achievements and leadership.
- Emerging Leader’s Award:
- Recognises exceptional and inspiring women, aged 16 to 30, who have made outstanding contributions to the community that have had a positive impact through their achievements.
Eligibility Criteria
- Be an Australian Citizen
- Work and reside in South Australia
- Not currently a sitting state and federal politician or current vice-regal officer
- They would particularly like to encourage nominations from women of all ages, cultures, disabilities, ethnicities and faiths.
Selection Criteria
- Inspiring South Australian Women’s Award
- Have made an outstanding contribution to their community
- Evidence of the positive impact on their community or on people’s lives
- Evidence of Leadership in their field and an inspirational role model.
- Emerging Leader only:
- Young Woman aged 16 to 30 as of 26 January the year the award is presented.
Application Requirements
- Explain the nominee’s achievements and the reasons for the nomination
- Provide background information and any supporting materials.
- Outline how the nominee has made an outstanding contribution and their service to the community. This can be but is not limited to the areas of education, health, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander initiatives, charitable and voluntary services, multicultural initiatives, arts and media, prevention of violence, sport and recreation, disability, science and medicine, business and environmental impact.
- The nominating person or organisation should complete the online nomination form addressing ALL of the selection criteria for the relevant award category and provide relevant background information and supporting materials.
- Nominations must provide the names, addresses and telephone numbers of at least one referee who are familiar with the achievements of the nominee.
