Deadline: 20 October 2024
The Embassy of the United States and the World Learning Organization call is open for students and adult companions (mentors) who wish to participate in the cultural and educational exchange program Youth Ambassadors 2025.
The Youth Ambassadors program aims to develop a network of young adults from all countries in the Americas who have a strong sense of civic responsibility, a commitment to their communities, a knowledge of current and global issues, and strong interpersonal leadership skills. The program aims to promote mutual understanding, respect, and collaboration between people in the United States and Argentina.
The program provides full scholarships for participants and adult mentors to participate in a 10-month leadership development program, focused on civic engagement and multiculturalism. The program begins with a three-week exchange in the United States. Participants are expected to implement a service project in their home community after the exchange, with the support of their adult mentor.
The selected students and mentors will travel to the United States, where they will develop activities and discussions related to civics, community service, and youth leadership development. They will live with host families, attend school, and participate in meetings, leadership trainings, community activities, and mentoring. Previously, students and mentors will participate in a pre-orientation in Buenos Aires a few days before departure to the United States, in which they will hold meetings with Embassy officials and carry out the visa process.
The exchange will take place in the spring of 2025 of the United States.
