Applications open for Semper Ardens Advance Grants (Denmark)

Projects venturing into new scientific territory will be prioritised.

Funding Information

• The total amount applied for must be within a budget of DKK 15-25 million.

Eligible Expenses 

• Grants are given as a framework grant and may be used to cover expenses that are relevant and necessary for completing the project.
• The following running costs may be applied for:
  • Consumables
  • Equipment
  • Travel, research stays, inviting researchers, conferences, research leadership courses or similar
• The budget may include the following salary items:
  • Salaries for postdoctoral fellows
  • Salaries and tuition fees for PhD students (enrolment of the PhD students at a Danish PhD graduate school is required)
  • Salary for a research assistant for a limited time period
  • Salary for a project coordinator for up to 12 months during the project period

Eligibility Criteria

• It is possible to apply as a single applicant (PI) or as a team of maximum four PIs.
• In the case of applications as a PI team, one of the applicants must act as the main applicant responsible for contact with the foundation and, should the application be successful, administration of the grant.
• The main applicant, whether a single PI or member of a PI team, must be a tenured internationally recognised professor employed at a Danish research institution. Other members of a PI team must be tenured associate professors or professors employed at a Danish research institution.
• The foundation expects the applicant(s) to dedicate at least 50% of their research time to the project. Part of the work may be carried out at collaborating Danish or international institutions, but the majority of the work must be carried out in Denmark.

Requirements

• The application must be submitted through the CF-Grant application system.
• Please note that failure to comply with the following requirements will result in an administrative rejection of the application. Please ensure that the correct type of grant is chosen in CF-Grant. Applying for the wrong type of grant will also result in an administrative rejection.
• The application must be written in English.
• The following appendices, and only these, must be uploaded with the application in PDF format (please note that other formats are not accepted):
  • Project description
  • Budget
  • Curriculum vitae of the main applicant and, in the case of PI team applications, of all PIs
  • List of publications of the main applicant and, in the case of PI team applications, of all PIs
  • Description of the research group and its organisation and national/international networks
  • Declaration of support from the host institution.
