Applications are now open for Teach for Nepal Fellowship for outstanding university graduates and young professionals who are committed to end education inequity in Nepal starting with two years of fellowship teaching in public schools.
Teach for Nepal fellowship is a two year long, full-time paid employment opportunity. During the two years, Fellows teach in public schools and bring about academic achievement and transformative impact in their students. At the same time, they harness their leadership skills through the teaching experience and intensive development training and support.
The programme offers a unique opportunity for you to grow as a leader while having a significant and immediate impact on education inequity in Nepal. The Fellowship is a highly competitive, challenging, and rewarding leadership development program. It is an opportunity to make a real difference in one of the most important social issues of the time: education inequity in Nepal, while equipping you with valuable skills that will enable you to launch a career in any field. Over the two years, you will hone your skills in a variety of areas including communication, planning, project management and implementation, and teamwork. As a classroom instructor, you are uniquely poised to set your students on new paths and to lead them to success both in and out of school. And as a member of the movement, you join a network of leaders and change agents both locally and internationally. You will leave Teach for Nepal prepared and confident to meet whatever comes next.
Funding Information
- Teach for Nepal Fellows will be paid a stipend of ₹ 22,500 per month during the two years of fellowship.
Geographic Focus
- You will work in a government and community schools in Teach for Nepal placement region. Currently Teach for Nepal works in 4 districts: Sindhupalchowk, Dhanusha, Parsa, and Tanahu districts.
Eligibility Criteria
- If you are a Nepali citizen, or NRN and have completed a Bachelor’s degree, you are eligible to apply for the Fellowship. They are looking especially for people who have demonstrated leadership potential, interest in social change, and growth mindset with content mastery in science, math, computer and english.
