Open Call for Angus Foundation Research Grants – Australia

The Angus Foundation provides a mechanism for members and other beef industry stakeholders to support youth development, education and research programs conducted by Angus Australia.

These programs are designed to encourage and assist the involvement of young people in the Australian beef industry, to provide professional development opportunities for young beef breeders, and to assist in conducting research, development and educational programs for the benefit of Angus breeders and the wider Australian beef industry.

The Angus Foundation is governed by a committee of the Angus Australia Board, with advice from the current Angus Australia Consultative Committees including members and other industry participants with an interest in assisting with the Foundation’s activities.

Funding Information

• The value of the Research Grant is up to a maximum of $AU 20,000. Angus Australia may award an alternate value if more than one suitable application is received.

Eligibility Criteria

• The Angus Australia Research Grant is awarded to undergraduate and post-graduate students enrolled in a higher degree at a university or other recognised educational institution.

Selection Criteria

• Applications will be judged against the following selection criteria:
  • The potential of the project to provide outcomes likely to be applied to Australian beef industry.
  • The project methodology based on sound science with outcomes likely to be able to be peer reviewed.
  • The demonstrated suitability of the individual and institution to the type of work outlined including the history of similar work undertaken.
  • The value the proposal has for the users of the Angus and Angus influenced genetics.
  • A budget demonstrating where the grant funds will be used.
  • The application being completed in full.
  • The supplied references.
