Call for Applications: SBIF Asha Scholarship Program (India)

Deadline: 1 October 2024

The SBIF Asha Scholarship Program 2024, one of India’s largest scholarship programs, is an initiative of the SBI Foundation under its education vertical – Integrated Learning Mission (ILM) to provide financial assistance to meritorious students from low-income families across India, ensuring the continuity of their education.

The scholarship is open to students from Class 6 to 12 and for students pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate courses from the top 100 NIRF universities/colleges and IITs or MBA/PGDM courses from IIMs. Selected students can receive a scholarship of up to INR 7.5 lakh to support their educational endeavors.

  • SBIF Asha Scholarship Program for Postgraduate Students
  • SBIF Asha Scholarship Program for IIT Students
  • SBIF Asha Scholarship Program for IIM Students

Funding Information 

  • SBIF Asha Scholarship Program for School Students
    • Classes 6 to 12 : INR 15,000 each
  • SBIF Asha Scholarship Program for Undergraduate Students
    • Undergraduate Students : Up to INR 50,000
  • SBIF Asha Scholarship Program for Postgraduate Students
    • Postgraduate Students : Up to INR 70,000
  • SBIF Asha Scholarship Program for IIT Students
    • Undergraduate Students from IITs : Up to INR 2,00,000
  • SBIF Asha Scholarship Program for IIM Students
    • MBA Students from IIMs : Up to INR 7,50,000

Eligibility Criteria

  • SBIF Asha Scholarship Program for School Students
    • Open for Indian nationals only.
    • Applicants must be studying in Class 6 to 12 in the current academic year.
    • Students must have secured 75% marks or above in their previous academic year.
    • The gross annual family income of the applicants must be up to INR 3,00,000.
    • 50% of the slots will be reserved for female applicants.
    • Preference will be given to students belonging to the Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) categories.
  • SBIF Asha Scholarship Program for Undergraduate Students
    • Applicants should be Indian nationals.
    • Applicants must be pursuing an undergraduate course (any year) from a premier university/college in India, as listed in the Top 100 Institutes according to the latest NIRF rankings.
    • Students must have secured 75% marks or above in their previous academic year.
    • The gross annual family income of the applicants must be up to INR 6,00,000.
    • Premier institutions and renowned colleges will include those listed in the top 100 National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) List for Universities and the top 100 in the NIRF List for Colleges for 2023 and 2024 (released by the Ministry of Education, Government of India). Additionally, all National Institutes of Technology (NITs) will also be included.
    • Preference will be given to students with a family income of up to INR 3,00,000 per annum.
    • 50% of the slots will be reserved for female applicants.
    • Preference will be given to students belonging to the Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) categories.
  • SBIF Asha Scholarship Program for Postgraduate Students
    • Applicants should be Indian nationals.
    • Applicants must be pursuing a postgraduate course (any year) from a premier university/college in India, as listed in the Top 100 Institutes according to the latest NIRF rankings.
    • Students must have secured 75% marks or above in their previous academic year.
    • The gross annual family income of the applicants must be up to INR 6,00,000.
    • Premier institutions and renowned colleges will include those listed in the top 100 National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) List for Universities and the top 100 in the NIRF List for Colleges for 2023 and 2024 (released by the Ministry of Education, Government of India). Additionally, all National Institutes of Technology (NITs) will also be included.
    • Preference will be given to students with a family income of up to INR 3,00,000 per annum.
    • 50% of the slots will be reserved for female applicants.

    • Applicants should be Indian nationals.
    • Applicants must be pursuing an undergraduate course (any year) from an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in India.
    • Students must have secured 75% marks or above in their previous academic year.
    • The gross annual family income of the applicants must be up to INR 6,00,000.
    • Preference will be given to students with a family income of up to INR 3,00,000 per annum.
    • 50% of the slots will be reserved for female applicants.
    • Preference will be given to students belonging to the Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) categories.
  • SBIF Asha Scholarship Program for IIM Students
    • Applicants should be Indian nationals.
    • Applicants must be pursuing MBA/PGDM courses (any year) from an Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in India.
    • Students must have secured 75% marks or above in their previous academic year.
    • The gross annual family income of the applicants must be up to INR 6,00,000.
    • Preference will be given to students with a family income of up to INR 3,00,000 per annum.
    • 50% of the slots will be reserved for female applicants.
    • Preference will be given to students belonging to the Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) categories.
