The Ashinaga Africa Initiative (IAA) is offering scholarships for young people from PALOP countries in vulnerable situations to undertake their training in Brazil.
The Ashinaga Initiative Africa (AIA) is an international leadership program that supports the next generation of leaders who will contribute to the development of sub-Saharan Africa.
IAA Scholars have lost one or both parents and are committed to returning to Sub-Saharan Africa to be catalysts for change, innovation, and development. IAA provides full financial support for study abroad (undergraduate bachelor’s level) including accommodation, travel costs, and other necessary expenses.
Eligible Countries
- Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau, Mozambique, and Sao Tome and Principe.
Eligibility Criteria
- Registration is open to anyone who:
- Has one or both parents deceased.
- Maximum age is 22 years old until October 18, 2024.
- Has excellent academic performance in high school, with an overall average equal to or greater than 60%.
- Have a final average in Portuguese equal to or higher than 60%
- Completed 12 years of study (primary and secondary school) in the last two years.
- He is a national and completed high school in Mozambique, Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau, or São Tomé and Príncipe.
- You don’t have the financial means to attend university.
- You can participate in both Ashinaga preparatory programs within a one-year period before entering university.
- Does not have dependents that could interfere with academic progress.
- You are in good health and are physically capable of studying abroad.
- He does not have Brazilian parents, or Brazilian nationality.
