Deadline: 2 August 2024
Applications are now open for the Google India Research Awards that are focused on supporting exceptional computer science research in the region.
India Research Awards intend to support faculty at universities or degree-granting research institutions in the region engaged in world-class research in all areas relevant to Google. The program also includes a sub-track to support early-career professors (faculty who have begun their faculty careers within five years of submission of application).
Through this program they also intend to strengthen long-term collaborative relationships with faculty working on problems that will impact how future generations use technology.
Focus Area
- Machine Intelligence
- Machine Intelligence at Google raises deep scientific and engineering challenges, allowing to contribute to the broader academic research community through technical talks and publications in major conferences and journals. Contrary to much of current theory and practice, the statistics of the data they observe shifts rapidly, the features of interest change as well, and the volume of data often requires enormous computation capacity. When learning systems are placed at the core of interactive services in a fast changing and sometimes adversarial environment, combinations of techniques including deep learning and statistical models need to be combined with ideas from control and game theory.
Award Information
- The funds granted will be 20,000 USD and are intended to support the advancement of the professor’s research.
Eligibility Criteria
- Faculty can submit one application per round by including a two-page research proposal outlining their research agenda (research goals, proposed approach, expected outcomes, relation to prior work) and the faculty member’s CV. References are not included in the page limit.
