The Spondylitis Association of America calls for nominations for its Early Career Investigator Award which recognizes outstanding contributions to the care and understanding of patients with spondyloarthritis.
As part of their ongoing mission to expand horizons in spondyloarthritis research, the Spondylitis Association of America hopes to encourage new, upcoming rheumatologists and researchers to focus on the future of treatment and research in ankylosing spondylitis and related diseases.
Award Information
- The award amount has increased over the years and now the winner receives a $30,000 grant from SAA for use in spondyloarthritis research.
What are your commitments if you receive the award?
- Help explain your work to people living with spondylitis by being available to SAA staff for a short interview regarding your work and the way this award will help support ongoing research. The ensuing articles will be published in Spondylitis Plus magazine and/or various SAA online outlets including a news press release.
- Provide a brief summary of key findings at the end of the year, and if not fully completed within a year, again at the conclusion of the research.
- Acknowledge SAA funding in any publications/posters produced as a result of this award.
- Share the good news! Your institution is to make an announcement of the award in its publication for general distribution. This could be included in an e-newsletter, on its website, or through another vehicle.
Who should apply?
- MDs and PhDs at level of Instructor or Assistant Professor currently working at a US institution, who have contributed to the care and understanding of patients with spondyloarthritis.
